I’ve been dealing with a fruit fly infestation at my place…
It has not been fun.

Fruit flies? Get yourself a few tarantulas!
We had a flea infestation over the weekend ourselves. Two Pomeranians. Three rescued grey foxes. Three blow dryers. One large bottle of flea shampoo.
I’ve been dealing with a fruit fly infestation of my own at my workplace. At home I’d just put up fly paper until they died off, but that looks “unprofessional” so we’re stuck with them, it seems…
Speaking from experience, this works amazingly well.
Get a small jar, a plastic bag, a rubber band and some apple cider (or anything liquid that’s fruity and sugary). Partially fill the jar with the cider, then seal it with the plastic bag so that one corner hangs into the jar. Poke a tiny hole in the very tip of the corner, and set in an open place.
The smell of the cider will attract the fruit flies, which then become trapped by the plastic bag. Empty and refill the jar as the fruit flies die off.
Seriously, it’s cheap, but works really well.
I’ll have to try it. Thank you
I’ve used wine for the same trick and honestly I’m not sure which one would work better. I was told that the stronger smell of red wine attracts them more than white wine but as for cider…
I think you have a nice experiment here, put three glasses; one with white wine, one with red and one with cider and see which one works the best and simply multiply your result.
